Simple Moments

Ya know, its amazing how God provides teaching moments. I am currently attending a bible study on the Book of Mark. I am not a biblical scholar.  I am learning. Opening my heart to God and His teachings. Since I was baptized two years ago, at God’s prompting and my desire to make the personal decision to open my life to Him, God has been opening my eyes to His purpose and teaching me so much that I did not know.

So I attended bible study Monday night, having prepared by reading through chapters 1 and 2 in the Book of Mark. I didn’t have any big revelation, except in the knowledge that I knew more of Jesus’ story and the culture of the time than I thought I knew… Go figure.  BUT… God showed me something that I never saw before…  That’s how it works, really.  In a moment, just a simple moment, He gives you a moment of clarity and places the knowledge in your heart.  So I was rereading Mark 1:9-11

At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

At that moment, God showed me that this was a moment in time where The Trinity was present at the same time. Potentially, there may be more moments of that, but this is the first time I have the understanding and the semi-visual of this happening.

I love how God works. Have you learned anything this week? Share what God has shown you recently.

Deuteronomy 32:2 Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.
Proverbs 4:2 I give you sound learning, so do not forsake my teaching.
