Life is full of storms, right? Not just storms of rain and wind that occur every day, but storms of life. Winds of life change direction all the time. Sometimes we feel like we are drowning from the heavy rains, rushing waters or oppressive heat. Do you ever feel that way?
Well right now we are weathering a magnificent storm. With the thyroid cancer, financial burden, and following the path God has marked to follow, sometimes I feel like I am barely keeping my head above water. Even though we may receive a glimpse of the potential of what may be coming, we truly do not know the reality of what is coming our way.
Who do you weather your storms with? Do you weather you life storms alone?
At one time, I would have weathered them, for the most part, alone. I mean I had my husband and family, but still dealing with things mostly alone.
NOW, I seek GOD. I see Jesus as the center of my hurricane. Calming the winds and rains that rage on around me. I prefer to see the clear blue sky and feel the cooling breeze blowing instead of witnessing the billowing black clouds, lightning striking and the sideways sheeting rain. Can y’all visualize it? Does your heart skip beats witnessing the brewing storms? Mine does.
I call on Jesus. Seek His guidance. Call out His name when the tears are streaming down my face. I trust in Him to guide me, bring peace, provision, and protection into my world.
I see the storm clouds building in the distance. I acknowledge what I am immediately facing. The thing I do not know is what exactly is on the other side. My God will see me through whatever is coming my way. Jesus knows what is unknown. My reaction to what I face will only be to glorify God in all ways I can. His light WILL shine from me for others to see and witness.
What do you choose to do? How do you choose to face the coming life storms?
Psalms 18:2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress. My God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.
